Summary: 

The Housing Case Manager provides case management services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, with a focus on obtaining and maintaining safe, stable housing. This role supports clients in building life skills, connecting to community resources, and achieving long-term self-sufficiency.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive “housing-first” assessment to identify participants’ strengths, resources, and barriers to securing permanent housing.
  • Assist clients in completing housing applications and required documentation.
  • Support clients through the move-in process, including inspections and development of plans for rent payment, crisis management, and daily living.
  • Provide post-placement case management, helping clients adjust to housing and build long-term connections to community services. 
  • Recruit and maintain positive relationships with landlords; collaborate with housing authorities to secure leases and support housing stability.
  • Assess client safety and develop individualized safety plans.
  • Assist clients through healthcare, legal, criminal justice and social services systems.
  • Provide advocacy and self-sufficiency services at WCA and off-site locations.
  • Help identify housing opportunities and prepare clients for transitional or permanent housing.
  • Maintain thorough case notes, compile data, and prepare required reports.
  • Participate in weekly case management and other program meetings.
  • Attend relevant community trainings, meetings, and events to foster partnerships and represent the WCA.
  • Collaborate with WCA staff to maintain updated community resource lists.
  • Perform other assigned duties, as needed. 
  • Travel required; must use personal vehicle.

 

 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or a related field required. 
  • Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of prior experience in case management or direct service delivery, preferably with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, mental health needs, or housing instability.
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of issues related to domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet use, and database systems.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Regular and predictable attendance required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with organizational and HIPAA standards.
  • Valid driver’s license, personal transportation, and an acceptable driving record.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the WCA.

The employee will be in a normal office environment while performing the duties of this job and will be required to sit, stand, walk and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  Additionally, employees will be required to travel to other locations to conduct company business.
