Amendment Specialist

PURPOSE:
Coordinate with Claim Administrators to take ownership of VCF accounts that have received an initial VCF Award and evaluate opportunities to seek additional compensation via amendment. The Amendment specialist will communicate with clients to assess if clients have valid amendments. The Amendment Specialist will guide clients to assist them in obtaining the necessary documents to ensure expedient and successful processing of VCF amendments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Take ownership of client accounts after the attorney evaluation of an initial VCF award.
• Be the main point of contact for the client; contact third party organizations as needed to gather all necessary documentation for each VCF amendment.
• Mail and process documents to the client, third parties, the VCF, and the WTCHP
• Coordinate with attorneys to obtain records to pursue amendments discussed during attorney award review calls.
• Field calls from previously compensated VCF clients to establish potential amendments for additional compensation.
• Proactively evaluate accounts to assess opportunities to pursue amendments.
• Log communications, documents, and claim submissions to client Salesforce accounts.
• Write cover letters which speak to severity of client’s 9/11 illness(es) to ensure the success of the amendment.
• Perform additional duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

• Knowledge of industry’s legal rules and guidelines related to the VCF and WTCHP.
• In-depth knowledge of functions and principles related to processing VCF amendments.
• Exceptional writing ability, especially in areas of persuasive writing and note-taking.
• Familiarity with MS Office, Salesforce, and various business software.
• Creative and analytical mind, able to strategize and problem-solve.
• Familiarity with medical documentation.
• Personal accountability and adherence to standards of ethical behavior and professional conduct.
• Team collaborator with excellent interpersonal skills.

COMPENSATION:

$60,000 - $70,000

SUMMARY: The Amendment Specialist will be responsible for coordinating with Claim Administrators to evaluate opportunities for additional compensation through amendments for clients who have received an initial VCF award. They will serve as the main point of contact for clients and will be responsible for gathering necessary documentation, communicating with third parties, and coordinating with attorneys. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, knowledge of VCF and WTCHP guidelines, and be proficient in MS Office and Salesforce. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $60,000 - $70,000.
