Job Objective:
Performs field and office activities related to the collection, assessment, and reporting of data. Documents inspection findings and communicates issues to project leadership. Applies broad professional knowledge to serve client needs. Communicates with homeowners and project leaders to provide project progress status and updates. Work is performed independently under limited supervision and can take place throughout the state of PA.


Job Duties:
• Perform research to identify, evaluate, and do field canvassing (via walking neighborhoods) to identify and assess customer-side water service line materials as part of the Lead Service Line Replacement Program.
• Responsible for researching TAP Cards and gathering specific data from the card
• Responsible to take exterior photos of the house, house number and interior photographs of the service material and record the pipe material identified document findings
• Perform inspections via foot in assigned area and collect data using tablets, phones and computers.
• Create reports based on findings of the home material identification inspections.
• Complies with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc..
• Performs other duties as required.
 

Skills and Abilities:

• Possesses excellent communication skills and maintains a positive attitude
• Comfortable working outdoors throughout the year in various weather conditions
• Capable of working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Able to work on your feet for 8+ hours and conduct numerous waterlines inspections per day
• Comfortable entering private properties, residences, businesses, and public buildings.
• Able to stand, crouch, crawl, and kneel for prolonged periods
• Has reliable transportation and is willing to commute over an hour daily at times
• Familiar with basic construction, building materials, and public utilities
• Proficient in the use of hand tools, tablets, and cell phones to document service line materials
• Knowledgeable, familiar or willing to learn how to use GIS maps and navigation
• Able to communicate professionally and appropriately with all customers
• Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the construction materials
• Strong organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
• Good interpersonal skills to cultivate relationships with colleagues, customers, and partners.
