We are looking for an Accounts Payable Team Lead to join our team in Lincoln. In this role you will function as the subject matter expert for the AP team. You will review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment. You will assume responsibility for more complicated and complex duties assigned to the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pay vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; ensure credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments
• Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
• Calculate use taxes as needed on paid invoices
• Monitor and verify vendor files for 1099 purposes; prepares and processes 1099 forms yearly
• Train, mentor and guide accounts payable team members
• Ensure strong partnerships are built and excellent support is provided to other members of the team as well as to all internal customers

Requirements of the Accounts Payable Team Lead:

• Associate’s Degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of experience as a self-sufficient AP Coordinator
• Knowledge of general accounting procedures
• Proficient in data entry and data management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong reconciliation skills
• Exceptional computer skills with an in-depth knowledge of Excel
