A Brief Overview
The Innovation Device & VR Support Specialist will be a key player in supporting and maintaining Children's Nebraska's innovative infrastructure and its devices that align with the organization's strategic goals. This role involves working closely with the Digital Health and Innovation, IT, 3D teams, and its clinical partners to ensure smooth operation, security, and optimization of innovative devices and systems. Devices include but are not limited to Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), other screen technologies and their software for Digital Therapeutics.
Essential Functions
- Evaluates, configures, deploys, monitors and maintains innovation related devices, ensuring their proper functioning and connectivity. Supports pilots projects to test the viability of proposed innovation devices. Maintains high level of performance to keep departments running efficiently. Implements new hardware without adverse effect on current production systems. Collaborates with 3D visualization, IT, clinical engineering and other cross-functional teams to support the integration of new innovation related and systems. Assists in the collection, analysis, and reporting of data generated by innovation related devices to identify trends, optimize performance and inform decision-making. Continuously incorporating the latest industry trends and technological advances.
- Provides technical support and troubleshooting for devices and related systems, addressing issues reported by clinical users and other users. Develops installation methods that minimize impact on customer systems. Engages in periodic contact with customers for feedback on software performance. If negative feedback is encountered, determines source, and corrects deficiency using acceptable troubleshooting techniques.
- Provides training and support to clinical staff and other users on the proper use and maintenance of innovative devices. Maintains accurate documentation of all innovation related devices, configurations, and procedures. Assist with the development and testing of innovation related devices including VR simulations.
- Maintains up-to-date database of owned technologies. Validates and updates inventory in accordance with standards. Participates in annual inventory process.
Education Qualifications
- Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology or related field, equivalent work experience may be substituted for education. Required or
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field Preferred
Experience Qualifications
- 1-3 years Minimum three years of experience with Windows 10 and other Windows applications, including Microsoft Office Required and
- 1-3 years Experience with Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality systems and integrations Required and
- 1-3 years Customer service experience. Required
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge, skill and ability to understand and use network principles to aid in troubleshooting problems.
- Knowledge, of the principles of personal computers and other peripheral devices.
- Knowledge of interfaces between applications and how that relates to operational functionality.
- Knowledge of basic network operating system fundamentals.
- Skill in the operation and maintenance of peripheral devices such as Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality devices and systems.
- Skill in interpersonal communication
- Ability to work closely with customers and communicate expectations.
- Ability to keep abreast of emerging technologies and their application to our environment.
Licenses and Certifications
- CompTIA A+ Certification Preferred
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) Preferred
